Stay A While

You may stay a while if you wish
Nestled in the undergrowth of passion
Where saplings grow
In the presence of old branches
That twine around a heart that knows
How the blossoms bloom
Yet fall and fade
Still the fruit will grow
Ripe & ready for you to pick
A taste of …. Well, you decide
Will linger upon your lips
There is a clearing here
Where the world cannot go
Where the warmth of desire
And affection can be felt
Where the brambles and the thorns
Are kept at bay
The scratches and scrapes
Of life’s complications
Can all be dealt with another day
Because here. Right now
Is a space. And place.
And time. Just for us
To grow. And flower. And intertwine
