It’s that day of the week again and I couldn’t go with doing a #SoSS post this week. I read some awesome blog posts and I can’t wait to share them with you. First of all I wanted to take a moment to address why we do these posts. While it is lovely to see the camaraderie within the blogging community, introduce our blog regulars to new finds and drive traffic towards new blogs those are not the initial reason the Share our Shit Saturday movement was started.
My one word summary of why #SoSS began is ‘censorship. I could elaborate but I’d much rather point you in the direction of three posts that do it far better than I can. Sex Blogger SOS: Share Our Shit by Girl on the Net, To Survive The Pornocalypse by ErosBlog and Censorship By Default by May More. If you are a new blogger, or you simply haven’t come across the term shadowbanning and have no idea how much this subject matters to those of us to write about sex (and variations of this theme), then I urge you to give those three posts a read. Then share the heck out of your favourite bloggers, because it really does make all the difference.
Speaking of favourite bloggers, yours need you. That’s right your favourite bloggers need you to do something for them and it is very important. Molly Moore of MollyDailyKiss, who also hosts Sinful Sunday and Kink of the Week as well as organising Eroticon, does not hold back on things she does for this community. One of those things is creating her very own Top 100 Sex Blogs, the nominations for this are out now. To be in with a chance of making it into the Top 100 a blogger needs to be nominated by someone else.
I would like to say thank you to the wonderful people who have already put my name forward. You are all amazing. As are the people who clearly nominated me last year. I somehow ranked number 49 and didn’t even know it! This time last year was a bit blurry for me, so I apologise that this completely slipped me by. When I saw it last week I was delighted. I promise to pay more attention this year.
I have made some nominations myself, because there are people I want to see on that list. If you feel the same about your favourite bloggers then you need to nominate now!
Now to blog posts that I have loved this week.
First up is Cara Thereon and her ongoing detective series ‘Playing God’. It is so good. I read one piece without realise it was part of a serial, and it was fabulous as a stand alone piece. When I read them all as a serial though I was hooked. I am in awe of how well crafted it is. I am not ashamed to admit that erotica combined with murder (and/or threat of) is a huge fantasy kink of mine, so it is safe to say I am well and truly hooked by the tale she is weaving.
Demonised by Ella Scandal is my second pick and holy shit is this a good read. It’s dark and beautiful. It’s also so sexy but in a dark and twisted way and I LOVE that. I could say so much more about this, but I honestly don’t want to ruin it for anyone. It is a perfect read for the spooky season that is now upon us, so please go and check it out.
I’ll confess that I haven’t visited Jayne’s site much before now, that feels like an awful admission and I swear I will be back there often because she has wooed me well and truly with The Summoning of A Demon Queen. This was a freakin’ awesome read. Again it’s hard to explain why without spoiling it for you, but if you are feeling dark and deliciously demonic and you’d like to delve into something wicked and sexy then this is for you.
For those who don’t really do darkness and demons for their sexy reads, I do have something else for you and this is a blog post that I think can benefit everyone. The Art of Checking In by Taryn is a wonderful piece that I am sure could benefit many relationships out there. Whether you’ve together for one year or ten. This is just one of many great articles on aceinthehole, so do check it out and see what else Taryn has to share with us.
One last thing … tomorrow is prompt weekend on Sinful Sunday. The prompt being ‘I am …’ so come back tomorrow discover which facet of me I am sharing for that. and don’t forget to check in to see what amazing and sexy images the other participants come up with.
If you enjoy the content I provide both here and as part of the #ProudToBeKinky Podcast and you would like to support that, then likes and comments are joyful to receive and you can also click below to support me through Ko-fi. All support through Ko-fi is going towards my Eroticon attendance in March.
