1. Do you like tattoos? Do you have any tattoos?

I do like tattoos. I have 9, but one is still to be finished. Even when I was little I loved tattoos and found people with them utterly fascinating. My Mum however was less than impressed with this interest and because of her dislike of them I was 21 before I got my first one.

When I was 21 I had know my then partner for 2 years, we had just bought a puppy together and were both keen to get tattooed for the first time. We decided to get matching paw prints, they only small, about the size of a 50p piece. Mine is on the inside of my left ankle, his in the same place on his right ankle. Even thought we are no longer together, I have find memories of the 10 years we were together and I still love that little tattoo we got.

I have two tattoo that in memory of loved ones, one on my foot for my uncle and my largest piece on my back for my Mum. That particular tattoo took a long time to be completed. When I finally shared an image of it on Facebook, so many people said kindly how lovely it was, followed by how proud my Mum would be of it. To this day I find that hilarious because she’d be mortified I used her as a reason to get such a big tattoo. But she’s not here to tell me off any more so its tough!

I love my tattoos and they are all so special to me, and I have more I’d like to get. It’s a wonderful form of self expression for me, and has been much needed catharsis in some very troubled times.

2. How did you pick your online profile name?

Well I’ve had a few, but seeing as this is FlossDoesLife, let’s go for how I picked Floss. As many of you will know I quite often have bright coloured hair, more often than not a shade of pink. Not long after I’d joined the kink scene I was looking for a new Fetlife name, as the one I had was linked to a previous experience that I was eager to forget. One day a friend of mine said ‘Your hair is just like candyfloss. Oooh I’m going to call you Floss.’

I then remembered that as a little one my Mum used to call me FloozyFlo, which is a big giveaway as to what one of my given names is. With that in mind I changed my Fetlife name to FloozyFloss. When I decided to streamline all my social media accounts, and starts this blog in place of my previous one (which was attached to my previous Fetlife name) I decided to be like Cher and Madonna and just rechristen myself Floss.

It isn’t just my online name anymore, I am much more accustomed to people calling me Floss than any variation of my given name. Especially people within the kink community, friends I’m met in the last three years or anyone I’m likely to meet through blogging or podcasting. For me that’s not about keeping my identity private, though of course this is something I must be cautious of, it’s just that Floss feels like me.

3. What’s one saying you try to live by?

One of my favourites saying is …

I first found this when I was looking for quotes relating to Non-Monogamy and I think it works perfectly for that, but I think it is appropriate to so many relationships in this life.

4. What was the last bad meal you ate? Why was it so awful?

It’s been a really long time since I ate a bad meal. I mostly eat at home, and it’s usually food I’ve cooked myself and I cook up some delicious meals when I put my mind to it. So I’ll go for the worst meal I’ve ever eaten, which was when I first visited New York. I went with the school (we had an awesome Geography teacher that made it happen) so all our meals were planned in advance, in terms of where we were eating, there were then minimal options upon arriving. One even we visited China Town which I loved, so much so that’s where we stayed when we visited this year. Now there are some fabulous restaurants in China Town, my 16 year old self did not get to visit one.

We were served chicken soup, which was essentially a bowl of fat with bits of chicken carcass in, oh and sweetcorn, mustn’t forget the sweetcorn. It was completely inedible and I’m pretty sure we all went an bought snacks to help us survive until breakfast the next morning. I actually ate a lot of terrible meals during that holiday. So I am pleased to confirm that this years trip to New York involved some delicious meals.

5. When was your last bad sexual encounter? Why was it so awful?

Oh! I don’t really like this question! I hate talking about bad sex, mostly because a lot of the sex I’ve had that wasn’t great, was’t really anyone’s fault it was just down to poor communication and in all honestly a huge lack of knowledge on my part. I don’t know that I’ve ever had bad sex, but I have had sex that was just ‘meh’, not good, not bad, just perfunctory. That hasn’t happen for a very long time though.

Just prior to joining the kink scene I did have a dalliance where many of the sexual encounters I had with that person feel bad when I look back upon them. They feel bad for some many reasons, in part because they whole span of time with that person should never have happened. The locations of some of our sexual exploits were ill chosen, and some of what went down in our encounters are things I would now not accept as appropriate behaviour.

Bonus: Tell us something random.

Something random, well goodness me that’s nice and broad. Oh I know …  as some of you will know, some of you won’t, I love Harry Potter. I used the audio books as bedtime stories and in generally Harry Potter is my happy place. This of course means I have visited Pottermore to discover more about myself and the Harry Potter world. My Pottermore credentials are as follows:

pm-pride-Slytherin-Facebook-Profile-Image-180-x-180-pxHogwarts House: Slytherin

My Patronus: A Kingfisher

My Wand: Laurel wood with a Phoenix feather core 13″ and Surprisingly Swishy flexibility

Incidentally the Harry Potter love also relates to the question about tattoos. I have a small tattoo that has the Deathly Hallows sitting within a dot work heart. One day though I would very much like to add to the tattoo collection with some Harry Potter themed ink.

You can answer all these questions too and get involved at TMI Tuesday.

1. When I can’t sleep I _____ .

Usually listen to an audiobook or read something on my kindle. If I let myself get distracted by anything else like social media when I can’t sleep then I’ll I end up never getting sleepy. Books though in both their forms are great for helping me relax enough to doze off. Thankfully it isn’t that often that I can’t sleep. Perhaps it would be a preferable option over some of the sleep oddities I do have though!

2. My dream bedroom would be full of _____ .

If it could be an NSFW bedroom then 100% I’d want it to be full of BDSM equipment. A bed with a cage underneath and lots of potential for tying someone to it. All my toys and accessories would be stored in some kind of order and would be easy to access at all times. There would also be enough space for at least 4 other pieces of Bondage equipment, or perhaps it would have an en-suite dungeon attached to it. In terms of colour schemes I’d probably keep it fairly ‘traditional’. I like the black and red or black and purple aesthetics that you often find associated with dungeons.

If it had be SFW though which in fairness it has to be in reality because I have a little boy. Then my dream bedroom would be the kind of bedroom you’d imagine a 5 year old having. All the pink, lots of glitter, unicorns, princesses and cats. I’d have a framed pictured of each My Little Pony hanging up There’d also be loads of cuddly toys including a vast quantity of Build A Bears.

[TMI Tuesday] Three Is The Magic Number

Image via Pixabay

It’s been a while since I joined in with TMI Tuesday, but I really do find it a fun way for my readers to get to know me better. Hopefully with more time to blog now I will be getting involved on a weekly basis. Please do consider getting involved and take a look through the other blog that are joining in.

1. You can only keep 3 things: (pick and explain your choices)

Coffee
Jewelry
Books
Chocolate
Wine or Beer
Netflix
Tacos

Books, Chocolate and Netflix. Books because I think the world would be a much duller place if I didn’t have the wonderful writing of other to explore. Chocolate because I have a crazy sweet tooth and the thought of never eating chocolate again makes me feel quite sad! I try to eat it moderately but when I do eat it I LOVE it. Netflix because it’s the only access I have to T.V shows (I don’t own a Television), and sometimes it really is just nice to relax with a bar of chocolate and a few episodes of something I enjoy. Gives my brain a bit of a break from the thinking it seems to do constantly.

[Life] Crystal Balls, Being Too Nice and Falling In Love.

These questions are from this weeks TMI Tuesday. If you would like to get involved then follow the link below and you will find all the questions and information on how to get involved.

If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, your future, what would you want to know?

Crikey, that’s deep. I think what I’d like to know most of all right now is if the things I’m working towards will come to fruition and if they will make the difference I hope they will. Not only for myself but the people I am hoping they will have positive effects for.

What do you value most in your sex life?

IMG_7293Well my sex life, is more of a kink life, or an intimacy life. What I value most about my physical interactions with Bakji that includes all those things is the honesty, the exploration and the connection it has given us. I am regularly moved by how far we have come and how wonderful it is that we have found so many amazing things to share together. This includes venturing into non-monogamy as well, and I also value the wonderful connections and intimate friendships I have made with some truly wonderful people.

What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about?

Wow! Scary question. I think this is something that will vary massively from person to person. For me it often depends who is making the joke and what their intention is. I realise though that for many people that is irrelevant and certain subjects should be left well alone. The topics that I really don’t find funny to joke about couldn’t triggering for people just by reading them, so I’ll keep this one annoyingly vague. I will say though that sometimes I had a totally inappropriate and dark sense of humour, which doesn’t always sit well with people, but being able to laugh at awful things has got me through some tough times.

If you had to move to a state or country besides the one in which you currently live, where would you move and why?

Well I love where I live, but as we all know the U.K is going a bit loopy at the minute and as much as I love the U.S.A they’re in loopy territory too it seems. Canada seems pretty sane at the minute, so maybe I’d give that a go. If I had to live somewhere else in the U.K I’d probably go with London, then I’d be near lots of my lovelies and we could go on more adventures together. Although it has been winter here for what feels like an eternity, so maybe I should pick somewhere sunny and glorious.

Are you too nice?

Definitely not. Don’t get me wrong, I am nice, and maybe I’m nicer than some people but I’m a million miles away from being too nice. Some days I really do gives zero fucks and I work with the general public which means I often want to scream in people’s faces. Usually I manage to smile politely and be awesome, but sometimes like last week, I have to tell a colleague to back the hell away from my personal space. So yeah, too nice is not a problem I have. P.S I’m still lovely, please still like me and my blog.

Bonus: Falling in love is _____ . (one word only)

Tough asks this week. I think for the bonus question I would have to go with the wordIMG_7292 ‘complicated’! I posed this question to Bakji, I was curious as to whether or not our thinking was similar and his response was my given name (which weirdly enough isn’t Floss). So he is adorable and I’m a big cynic.

[Life] The Life You Want

These questions are from this weeks TMI Tuesday. If you would like to get involved then follow the link in red and you will find all the questions and information on how to get involved.

Who was the first person you ever had a crush on? Why did you like them?

Oooh! I’ll give two answers, my celebrity crush and my real life crush. My first celebrity crush was Kylie Minogue. I just thought she was so pretty and she seemed so sweet and her songs made me so happy. So my little 4 years olds heart just got very gleeful whenever she was on T.V on the radio. I also developed a similar and related crush on Jason Donovan. ‘Especially For You’ still does funny things to my tummy.
