… I wanted to call this post ‘On Writing‘. I shan’t dwell on that though. However, if you haven’t read that particular title of Stephen King’s I highly recommend it.
Back to the post at hand and what perfect inspiration this week’s Wicked Wednesday prompt is for me. The blog has been quiet the last week or so. New working hours have been well and truly kicking my ass, there has been a lot of daytime snoozing to make sure my physical and mental health don’t slip. I have had to accept that for the moment the blog isn’t the most important thing in life right now. That doesn’t mean regular service won’t resume though, it will and the reason is that I love writing and when I saw the Wicked Wednesday prompt I knew it was the perfect blog post to kick start my writing again.
For me, writing has been an outlet of emotions since my teens. My first love when it came to producing writing was poetry. I can’t recall my exact age but I was around twelve I think when I read ‘Love’s Philosophy’ by Percy Bysshe Shelley. That single poem felt to me like the purest and most wonderful thing ever written. It sent me on a journey to discover a poem I loved more than that one. To this day I have never found one, that poem remains my all-time favourite. It moves something inside me everytime I read it and I never tire of it.

1. When I can’t sleep I _____ .
Usually listen to an audiobook or read something on my kindle. If I let myself get distracted by anything else like social media when I can’t sleep then I’ll I end up never getting sleepy. Books though in both their forms are great for helping me relax enough to doze off. Thankfully it isn’t that often that I can’t sleep. Perhaps it would be a preferable option over some of the sleep oddities I do have though!
2. My dream bedroom would be full of _____ .
If it could be an NSFW bedroom then 100% I’d want it to be full of BDSM equipment. A bed with a cage underneath and lots of potential for tying someone to it. All my toys and accessories would be stored in some kind of order and would be easy to access at all times. There would also be enough space for at least 4 other pieces of Bondage equipment, or perhaps it would have an en-suite dungeon attached to it. In terms of colour schemes I’d probably keep it fairly ‘traditional’. I like the black and red or black and purple aesthetics that you often find associated with dungeons.
If it had be SFW though which in fairness it has to be in reality because I have a little boy. Then my dream bedroom would be the kind of bedroom you’d imagine a 5 year old having. All the pink, lots of glitter, unicorns, princesses and cats. I’d have a framed pictured of each My Little Pony hanging up There’d also be loads of cuddly toys including a vast quantity of Build A Bears.

As the voting ended for the first round of Smut Marathon and the results were revealed, I don’t think I was alone in having the following thoughts: 1. How have I done?, 2. What feedback will I get? And 3. What is the next assignment going to be? You can read my thoughts on points one and two in Smut Marathon Round 1: The Votes Are In. This post will cover my thoughts so far on point three and the assignment we have now received.
Once again as per the rules I can’t share with you what the assignment is. I can tell you though that when I open the email containing our instructions I was genuinely excited. I think it is a great assignment. It is one that my brain feels ready to attack due to some previous writing tasks I have engaged in. If the last round taught me anything though it’s that being prepared and feeling proud of your entry doesn’t actually mean you will do well. I’m also pleased with the creativity it allows for. While still challenging us to hone skills that we may not have perfected, or even to gain skills we don’t yet have.
